If Alexander Wang has anything to do with, sportswear is not going anywhere from the luxury end of the fashion industry any time soon. Following swirling rumours, and a previously much-hyped sportswear collaboration with H&M, Mr Wang’s show for Adidas Originals as part of New York Fashion Week over the weekend was one of the biggest fashion events in recent times. Designed as a unisex collection of some 84 pieces, with several of those available for immediate purchase, the collection saw Madonna sitting front row and an after-party catered by McDonalds and 7-Eleven, such is the designer’s ability to tap into the cultural milieu.
